Micromax subsidiary Yu has launched a new budget offering in India under the moniker Yu Yuique 2. This one’s a successor to Yu Yunique smartphone launched in 2015 under the same brand. The new generation device improves on battery, camera, display, and more. Let’s go through the specs sheet and find out what’s unique(pun intended) about it.
Yu Yunique 2 Specifications
There is no doubt Micromax has done more than enough to make this seem as a worthy successor to Yu Yunique, however, in 2017, we are accustomed to expecting more.
Yu Yunique 2 sports a 5-Inch HD display powered by 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737 chipset with 2 Gigs of RAM and 16 GB internal storage, which is further expandable up to 64 Gigs. Camera Department of Yunique 2 comprises of 13 MP rear and 5 MP front shooters. A 2,500mAh battery sits under the hood.
The handset measures 145 x 72.7 x 9.15 mm and tips the weighing scale at 159 grams. It boots Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, might be the best selling point. Even though the specs are underwhelming, but it seems Micromax is targeting this towards the Redmi 4a and alike audience.
Yu Yunique 2 Pricing and Where to Buy
The new smartphone under the Yu banner carries a price tag of Rs. 5,999 ($93), same as Redmi 4a. It will go on sale in India starting July 27 (starting today) in two color variants of Champagne and Coal Black on Flipkart exclusively.
Micromax has been struggling big time in the Indian market, and it’s in desperate need of a hit device. Whether Yunique 2 turns out to be that device, only time will tell.
