It has only been a couple of days since Xiaomi announced a price drop for its flagship device Xiaomi Mi5 in its home country China. The Chinese manufacturer had dropped the prices of the various variants of the Mi5 by around 200 Yuan (approx. $30). This move led to the speculations that the prices of the Xiaomi Mi5 would soon be slashed in other global markets including India too and so it has happened.
Xiaomi Mi5 went on sale in India earlier in April this year and so far the sales of this device don’t look very encouraging. The Mi5 is available in India in only one variant with 32GB internal memory. The device is available with various online retailers like Flipkart and Amazon and they have offered the Mi5 at discounted prices earlier too, but this is the first major official price top since the launch of this device.
The Xiaomi Mi5 (32GB variant) was launched in India with a price tag of INR 24,999 (approx. $372) and now it has been reduced by around $30 to INR 22,999 (approx. $342). The price drop is permanent and has been done to lure more purchasers.
This price drop makes Xiaomi Mi5 perhaps the cheapest smartphone available in India that runs on the latest and fastest Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset. The other close opponent would be the OnePlus 3. At a mere cost of INR 22,999 (approx. $342), the Mi5 offers features comparable to other big flagships making it one of the best deals you can grab. This is the best you can get at this price, so don’t wait much further.
