Xiaomi can import and offer handsets in India, ban lifted till Jan 08

Following the Ex Parte order from Delhi High Court, Xiaomi stopped selling & importing products in India. Now there is a good news for Mi fans, The Xiaomi can import and offer handsets in India, as The Court has lifted the ban till Jan 08, 2015. The prohibition was for infringement of the patents of Ericsson.

However, it appears the prohibition is lifted only on qualcomm apparatus such as Xiaomi Mi3 and Redmi 1S. Other devices using Media Tek chipset might be still on ban. But for now, the ban has been withdrawn and sales will start on 23 Dec 14.

The official website of Xiaomi was also showing a text page only “A letter to Indian Mi fans” while on stay. Now website is also resumed in earlier mode. We can’t guess much as it is a legal case, however, it is a hope that matter might be solved with Ericsson till next hearing on Jan 08.

Stay tuned for any updates.
