Samsung and Sony are two big players in the smartphone market, with the former getting more attention and the latter having a huge fan following with its Xperia series. While Samsung recently unveiled its flagship Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge devices, Sony also launched its Xperia X and Xperia XA.

But those are the things of the past, and it’s time to move on and think about their upcoming devices. We were expecting Sony to unveil the Xperia Z6 instead of the Xperia X and XA, but it looks like the Z6 is taking some time. Meanwhile, Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Note 6 in the upcoming months, and rumors and leaks are already in the air. So let’s see what details we have right now.

Samsung Galaxy Note 6: Specs, Features, Price, Release Date

You might have already gone through a lot of reports on the web, so let’s cut the extras and get to the main things directly. Talking about the design first, the Galaxy Note 6 is expected to come with essentially the same design as the Note5, including the meta-and-glass chassis, but with a curvier back and possibly a thinner chassis.

The Galaxy Note 6 phablet is rumored to get a 5.8-inch Quad-HD Super AMOLED screen with the “Always on” option. Powering the device will be Samsung’s Exynos 8890 processor, and the phablet is said to come with a whopping 6GB of RAM.

A lot of users think that Samsung might bring back the microSD slot to the Note series just like it did on the Galaxy S7. But if we still don’t get memory expansion slot in the Galaxy Note 6, we might see storage options ranging from 32GB and 64GB to up to 128GB. The Note 6 might also get an IP68 certification for water and dust resistance.

As for the extra features, we are sure that the Galaxy Note 6 will come with an S-Pen stylus and a fingerprint sensor. Rumors also suggest an iris scanner and a heart-rate scanner being included in the device. The Note5 came with a 3000mAh battery, so we are expecting at least a 3500mAh juicer in the Note6.

No price leaks have happened for the Note 6 yet, but we guess it will be starting from $850 for the 32GB version. The Galaxy Note 6 is rumored to be launching in early September this year, but that is subject to change.

Sony Xperia Z6: Specs, Features, Rumors, Release Date

Since the new Xperia X series was introduced at the MWC 2016 a couple of months back, it was being speculated that the Z series had come to an end and we won’t be seeing the Sony Xperia Z6 launch. While this came as a disappointing rumor for Xperia fans, it was a wrong rumor altogether. Don Mesa, Head of Marketing at Sony Mobile US, has announced that the X series is meant for people who want something lesser than Z series, and the Xperia Z series hasn’t been killed off.

Now that we know the Xperia Z series is staying, it is highly possible that the Xperia Z6 might get launched at the IFA event (Internationale Funkausstellung) in Berlin. The event will be held from 2nd September to 7th September, and just for your information, the Z5 was unveiled at the same event last year.

Not much is known about the Z6 at this point, but we can be sure that the flagship will come with a Snapdragon 820 processor, at least that’s what the rumors say. It is also being said that the Z6 will come with a larger battery and a better 25MP camera at the back.

This information is not much, but we are sure some leaks will happen soon as the phone nears its launch. So stay tuned.
