Vivo Xplay 5 Elite Launched With 6GB RAM, 128GB Storage, Snapdragon 820; Xplay 5 is Cheaper Version

The Vivo Xplay 5 has been in the news for quite some time now, and finally, it has been launched at an event in China held just for the new Xplay 5 series. Yes, two Xplay 5 phones have been launched. Remember the company teasing a phone with 6GB of RAM? Well, that’s the costlier variant called the Vivo Xplay 5 Elite.

Before we go ahead and tell you about the specs and features of the new phones, let us tell you that these are one of the most beautiful phones we have seen in a lot of months. The thin, all-metal body with amazing curves and great color schemes make the new Xplay 5 phones one of the best lookers in the market right now. Built out of an aluminum-magnesium alloy, the body is very strong. Let’s talk about the features and hardware of the devices now.

Vivo Xplay 5

The Vivo Xplay 5 comes with a beautiful design and dual-curved 5.43-inches Super AMOLED display with a QHD resolution with Gorilla Glass 4 on top of it. The phone is powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core Snapdragon 652 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The phone gets a Hi-Fi chip for great audio output, and there’s a fingerprint sensor at the rear.

The Xplay 5 flaunts a nice 16MP Sony IMX298 camera at the back with PDAF and dual-tone dual-LED flash, and an 8MP front camera. This is a great camera setup at this price. And yes, the Vivo Xplay 5 will start selling in China from 8th March for CNY 3,698 (approx $565).

Vivo Xplay 5 Elite

The Vivo Xplay 5 Elite is a costlier, hence a more powerful version of the Xplay 5. The Elite variant comes with the latest Snapdragon 820 chipset and a whopping 6GB of RAM. It comes with Hi-Fi 3.0 and is powered by a 3,600 mAh battery. Rest of the specs remain the same as the Xplay 5. The Vivo Xplay 5 Elite will be made available on 8th March in China and will cost CNY 4,288 (approx $655).

Both the phones run Vivo’s FunTouch OS that is based on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The phones are 4G LTE-enabled.

There’s no word on the international availability right now, but we do hope these beauties reach other regions.
