Michael Hirst has been hard at work for Vikings season 5 and he has recently decided to share some stuff regarding the upcoming season. The info he shared is currently enough for fans to get hyped up for the next season.

Vikings Season 5 Episode 1 Spoilers

Recently, creator Michael Hirst claimed that Vikings season 5 is already on its way, and he took some time to tell fans how the next season will begin. In other words, he revealed what fans can expect to see in Vikings season 5 episode 1. According to him, the next season will open with the funeral Sigurd, with Ivar crying that he didn’t actually wanted to do it. But because of the murder, the brothers will split up. He further stated that the next season will now focus on internal battles, and they won’t be small ones.

“Ivar’s in a special position, he always has been. I think if memory serves Season 5 begins with the burial of Sigurd, and Ivar is weeping and saying he never meant to do it. But his murder of Sigurd splits the brothers — they split up into different camps. A large part of the next season will be about, will it be like this great Roman conflict after Caesar’s death, the great Roman civil wars with Brutus and Cassius and Octavian? These people are playing for possession of the known world. It’s not like a little local fight — these are huge territories. The Great Army has conquered a huge part of England. How do we behave now? That’s what Season 5 opens with.”

Vikings Season 5

The previous season was definitely an amazing one. The creator decided to end the life of Ragnar and continue the story with his sons. At the end of the last episode of season 4, a new character, Heahmund was introduced. The character is played by Jonathan Rhys Meyers and will join the main cast of Vikings season 5. Heahmund is said to be a respected enemy of Ivar, who has currently showcased his desire of conquering more Vikings territory.

Vikings season 5 is expected to arrive in Fall 2017. Rumor is that the first half of season 5 will air in November 2017.
