Sony Confirms a Better Hybrid Autofocus System in the Xperia Z5 Series

The Sony Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact have been in the news for quite a few weeks now, with rumors and leaks flowing in from different sources. Sony has already announced that it will be a part of the IFA consumer electronics show this year in Berlin. But what is more exciting that the tech giant has confirmed the launch of a new smartphone at the show on 2nd September, 2015.

The Great Britain arm of Sony has tweeted a teaser recently and has suggested their fans to get ready for the launch of a Sony smartphone which will come with a better focus system in its camera. A picture of this new smartphone has been attached in the tweet, but it has been deliberately blurred, so the design cannot be distinguished properly.

Here is a screenshot of the teaser tweet:

Even though the most logical assumption will be that this is the Sony Xperia Z5, the next flagship of the company, the size of the smartphone in the picture looks a bit small in relation with the user’s hands. This somehow suggests that it can be the Xperia Z5 Compact that Sony is talking about.

If you are unaware of the recent leaks and rumors, Sony will expectedly be unveiling both a 4.7-inch Xperia Z5 Compact and a 5.5-inch Xperia Z5. Also remember that the Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact were also unveiled at the IFA last year, so the rumors may come out to be true.

As of now, the teaser tweet clearly suggests that the next Xperia device will pack a greater autofocus system. This does not tell us any more about the upcoming Z5 devices, but it will obviously be the best Sony smartphone till date. We also hope that the new Sony devices will be coming with a new sensor (hopefully the Sony IMX240 sensor used in Samsung Galaxy Note5) along with an updated software for the camera.
The IFA event is just over a week away, so it won’t be long before we will have the complete details of the next Sony champion.
