The 5.6mm thick tablets known as the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 will be on sale in Hong Kong starting August 4th. Not only are these the lightest slates on the market, they also are the thinnest. Apparently, the tablets are available for pre-orders on Samsung Netherland’s web site, but the shipments in that country aren’t expected until September 3rd.
Wi-Fi and 4G LTE versions of both the tablets are available. The smaller Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 is priced at $398 for the Wi-Fi model, and $527 for the 4G LTE variant. Wi-Fi version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 is priced at $501 USD in Hong Kong while the 4G LTE model will cost $630. And of course these prices are derived after conversion from local currency
Samsung will make the Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 available in Black and White on August 4th (launch date). The Wi-Fi version of the tablet will be available in Gold by middle of August, while the LTE variant can be purchased in Gold at the end of next month. And the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 will be available in Black and White on the day of launch, and by the middle of the month, the tablet will be available in Gold as well just like its smaller sibling.
A coupon code from Expedia valued at the equivalent of $19 USD will be given to those who purchase Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 in Hong Kong, along with 100GB of free cloud storage from Microsoft One Drive, one free book per month from Kindle and three free months of book downloads from Audible.
Book cover priced at the equivalent of $51 USD will be available on August 4th as one of the accessories for the devices. In the middle of August, a Keyboard cover will be available for purchase for the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 model, priced at $116 USD.
