Samsung had brought the Galaxy S6 Active to please the fans who needed a water and dust resistant version of the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge. There was no word yet whether there would be a Galaxy S7 Active or not but it has been confirmed now.
Since the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge at the MWC this year, there has been a lot of rumours about the Galaxy S7 Active although both the flagship devices S7 and S7 Edge are already dust and water resistant.
The Galaxy S7 Active has been confirmed now as the device was shown listed in the changelog of Samsung’s Level app, which makes the presence of this device more than certain.
This successor to the Galaxy S6 Active was also spotted at the Zauba listing with a model number of SM-G891A (GS6 Active is G890A). The famous leaker, @evleaks has also revealed that the device has been codenamed Poseidon, and is being tested at AT&T currently.

The active variants of the galaxy flagships add more ruggedness to the device and we hope the same from the S7 Active. It may have a different design and form factor than the S7 and S7 Edge and reports indicate that it will come with military-grade protection (MIL-STD-810G), making the device immune from drops and falls. It will also pack a larger battery.
We’ve our fingers crossed for the device and can’t wait to get our hands over the device.
