The popularity of Reliance Jio in the country has spread like a wildfire since its launch. The only complain that the users have till date that this amazing offer is limited only to Lyf smartphones. This may soon change as Reliance has been in talks with Samsung and Apple to bring the Jio offer with some iPhones and Samsung smartphones. However, for the time being, the Jio offer is constrained to the Lyf phones and you’ll have to opt for one of these Lyf smartphones if you wish to avail the perks of the Reliance Jio preview offer.
In the latest addition to the Lyf devices, Reliance Retail has launched the latest 6-inch Lyf phablet, the Lyf Wind 2 in India. This 6-inch IPS display of this phablet has a 720p resolution and pixel density of 294ppi. The device is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6735M SoC with each cores clocked at 1GHz coupled with 2GB of RAM. The device offers 16GB of inbuilt storage which can be further upgraded up to 32GB via microSD card.
In the camera department, the Lyf Wind 2 sports an 8MP primary rear shooter with LED flash and a 2MP camera on the front for selfies and video chat. The device offers dual-SIM functionality with 4G LTE support. However, only one SIM can connect to 4G network at a time. Additionally, there is also VoLTE (voice over LTE) support just like other Lyf smartphones. The device packs a decent 2850mAh non-removable battery which promises a standby time of about 190 hours and runs on a rather old Android 5.1 Lollipop OS.
The Lyf Wind 2 packs all the common connectivity features like the Bluetooth v4.1, Micro-USB, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, FM radio, USB OTG, etc. At 223 grams, the device is a bit on the bulky side and considering the meagre battery size, this much weight seems a bit unjustified.
