Reliance Jio managed to make a huge bang with its Welcome Offer, giving users free calls, messages, and mobile data, but the offer may end pretty soon.

Of course, the offer has to end at some point, but there has been a lot of confusion about when the offer may end. Some reports state that the offer will end on December 31, 2016, while others suggest the offer may last until March 2017.

Reliance Jio 4G

Latest reports shed some light on the question, and the answer won’t please existing Reliance Jio users. According to reports, the company published flyers informing users about its new tariff plans, which should start applying starting January 1, 2017.

The latest news isn’t in line with the earlier statement published by Motilal Oswal analysts, stating that “Mass-scale free welcome offer could continue until March 2017 to attract subscriber growth towards the celebrated 100 million mark.” Since Reliance Jio didn’t comment on either report, it’s safe to say that the free offer will end on the last day of 2016. If you’re using the free offer, be ready for it to end soon.

This isn’t all; Gizbot reports about Jio launching a new free offer titled “Welcome Offer 2.” The second free offer should launch on December 3, continuing for 90 days. 90 days is the longest time a free promotional offer can last, according to TRAI regulations. Reliance Jio managed to extend the free offer by using some workaround means, but all promotional offers have to end at some point.

The upcoming “Welcome Offer 2” should start on December 3, and should last for 90 days, until March 3, 2017. There’s a catch, though, a catch that will keep current users from utilizing the new welcome offer. As reports state, the new offer will only be available for new users, meaning all current users will have to apply for upcoming tariffs in order to stay on Reliance Jio network. The second welcome offer will give Reliance Jio more time to fix problems with voice calls and to speed up 4G data speeds, which saw a huge drop in the last couple of weeks.

If you’re using the current free welcome offer, you better take a maximum advantage of it since the new tariffs will land on January 1, 2017. If you’re still not applied for the welcome offer, it’s better to wait for December 3, and apply for the upcoming “Welcome Offer 2.”
