Reliance Jio is managing to find better and better ways to attract new customers. After the company announced its excellent Welcome Offer (free data, messages and calls until December 31), and later on enabled it for all 4G supporting devices, it came with a new product, giving users a way to use Reliance Jio’s Welcome Offer on multiple devices at the same time. Of course, this works only if you somehow managed to activate your Jio SIM card.
Jio Dongle 2, a Wi-Fi dongle, comes with the Welcome Offer and enables users to connect up to 10 mobile devices at the same time (the number isn’t confirmed). Jio Dongle 2 doesn’t have a built-in battery source, so the device must be connected to a power source at all times; it is equipped with an OLED display, showing info regarding connection. You can grab it at Reliance Digital stores for the same price as JioFi 2 (a mobile hotspot device), which costs Rs 1,999.
Although Jio Dongle 2 hasn’t listed on the company’s official website, one Twitter user going by the name of Yatin Chawla shared the info about the dongle online.
Reliance Jio lately began testing its broadband internet service called JioFiber (an FTTH internet service offering speeds up to 1 Gbps) in Mumbai and Chennai. The service should soon go live, with plans starting at Rs 400 per month. The official launch date for JioFiber is unknown at the moment.
