Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer has been uploaded and we finally get a first look at Rockstar’s next biggest title. At the start of the trailer, you can see some character roaming over a hill. This will probably be our main protagonist. At this point it definitely feels like a one protagonist game because the Wild West setting has that one man army feel to it.
Red Dead Redemption 2 might not feature multiple protagonists
The next thing we see in the trailer is this huge and beautiful open world. There’s some wildlife roaming the wilderness and rivers flowing in the background. It looks absolutely stunning. The engine has come a long way since GTA 5. The open world is also very detailed with more precise and natural NPC behavior. You see some people camping out in the open at night. Combine this with the presence of wildlife and you have an incredibly realistic open world game.
There’s also a new feature. The trailer shows some people boating and canoeing in a river. So, swimming and boat travel will feature in the game for the first time. We also get a second look at the main character. This time he mounts a horse with some cattle moving nearby. There’s no confirmation as to the identity of the character.
The wildlife is actually a lot realistic in the game. You see vultures eating away a corpse of a dead dog while another dog growls at them. The coolest part is when 7 horse riders, the magnificent seven, ride into the distance. These could be the original RDR characters. Dual wielding might also be introduced in the game since one of the horse riders can be seen with two pistols in hand.
