Rockstar and 2K Games’ parent company Take Two has revealed that it will be at E3 this year “in a big way”. Interestingly, CEO Strauss Zelnick did not discount the possibility of a Red Dead Redemption 2 announcement at E3.
In an interview by MCV with CEO of Take-Two Interactive, Strauss Zelnick, the topic of Red Dead Redemption 2 was floated around.
What about Red Dead Redemption 2? Or Ken Levine’s new project? Zelnick is tight lipped, but points towards E3 as an event to look forward to.
“We will be there in a big way,” he concludes.
There have been at least rumours regarding Red Dead Redemption 2 in the recent past, including one from the reasonably reliable Shinobi602 of NeoGAF. Zelnick’s latest statement makes us think very strongly that if an RDR2 is indeed in development, it will be revealed at E3 this year.
Although the MCV interview says “With a number of new games, plus its eSports plans, 2016 is shaping up to be a far busier year for the teams at Take-Two…”, Take-Two’s list of revealed games is actually quite empty, as revealed by Wikipedia’s list of Take-Two games. After Battleborn launches in May, the only game Take-Two has on its roster is Mafia III, which will likely be released in the second half of the year.
What this points to, of course, is more game announcements. The time is ripe for a Civilization VI, or a new BioShock game, perhaps even a new Spec Ops game. Could this year also mean the reveal of the long-in-development Agent? Take-Two may not have their own conference at E3, but we look forward to what “a big way” means for the GTA company.
