There’s been a massive buff to the Pokemon in Pokemon GO. Just open your Pokedex and look at Alakazam. You will see a massive CP buff. Not only Pokemon got a massive buff but nearly every Pokemon got its CP increased by a certain amount.
Pokemon GO Sneaky Update brings a lot of changes
You’ll notice that the higher the IV, the higher the CP buff. This means that a lot of Pokemon are useful now, so maybe that was the actual purpose of this update. Lapras didn’t get the buff sadly but other Pokemon like Jynx did. Some Pokémon, such as Alakazam, Rhydon, and Gengar have their CP increased. Others have their CP lowered. These changes will allow a more balanced and competitive battling and training experience in Gyms.
So, this means that Rhydon and Gengar are OP. On the other hand, Slowbro has dropped so much CP-wise that it wouldn’t be seeing the top 10 Pokemon list anymore. Niantic hidden server update has changed a lot of things for the better but for the worse as well. But it at least shows they are dedicated towards balancing the game as much as possible. This could possibly be in preparation to the big December 2016 Update coming soon when Battle Friends and even Gen 2 Pokemon might arrive to the scene.
