Pokemon GO Plus will release next week on September 16th and will cost around $35. That’s actually a lot to demand for a gadget whose purpose is to give you an extra edge over other players. We’ll have to wait till next week and see whether the device is really worth it. For now here are the features we know about. You can pre-order the device on Amazon.

Pokemon GO Plus compatibility for both Android and iOS devices

The device is compatible with iPhone 5 / 5c / 5s / SE / 6 / 6s / 6 Plus / 6s Plus devices with iOS Ver. 8–9 installed. For Android, it is compatible with Android devices that have 2 GB RAM or more with Android Ver. 4.4–6.0 installed. Bluetooth Smart (Bluetooth Ver. 4.0 or higher) is required to use Pokémon GO Plus.

Pokemon GO Plus will give you Pokestop alerts

The device is shaped like a Pokeball map marker. It has a LED right in the middle which will blink and the whole device will vibratewhen you will be close to a Pokestop. Pokemon GO will also alert you if a Pokemon is nearby and let you catch it with the press of a button!

This life-saving feature is a must, considering how much your mobile’s battery could drain while you search for a Pokemon for hours on end. You can also catch a Pokemon using this device. Once a Pokemon is near, press the button on Pokemon GO Plus to release a Pokeball. However, you’ll only be able to throw a Poké Ball using Pokémon GO Plus if you’ve caught the Pokémon before.

3G/ 4G is recommended for this device

This is recommended in order to obtain accurate information so the device can give location information about Pokestop and Pokemon properly.
