The most significant effect of the new Overwatch patch is that it nerfs Mercy. However, by that we mean Mercy’s Resurrection ability. Play of the Game will feature her very less now. Furthermore, here are the rest of the changes introduced by the Overwatch patch.
Overwatch Patch – Eichenwald
Payload speed has increased in Eichenwald
Competitive Play info screen now has a Competitive Tier legend. On the other hand, Match Complete splash screen has replaced the former Round Complete splash screen in competitive matches
Triple-Kill bug – Fixed a bug. It prevents the Triple Kill announcement after a kill streak of 3 or more
Player skill settings boosted disproportionately – Fixed several issues causing players to obtain a skill rating that’s higher than their actual rating
Fixes for heroes
Hanzo – Fixed a bug causing the wrong arrow to be shown on Hanzo’s bow.
Junkrat – Fixed a bug preventing Junkrat’s RIP-Tire from receiving credit for kills, achievements, and other stats
Fixed a bug allowing Reaper to Shadow Step to unintended locations on Hollywood
Overwatch puts players into two teams of six. Each player selects one of several pre-defined hero characters with unique attributes and skills. Furthermore, these heroes are divided into four classes. Offense, Defense, Tank and Support. Players on a team work together to secure and defend control points on a map and/or escort a payload across the map in a limited amount of time. Players gain cosmetic rewards that do not affect gameplay. The game was launched with casual play. However, Blizzard added competitive ranked play about a month after launch. They state that all Overwatch updates will remain free. But additional cost to players will be from microtransactions to earn additional cosmetic rewards.
