The OnePlus 3 is one of the most-awaited flagship smartphones of this year, thanks to the company’s fan-following. OnePlus smartphones are known for providing top-notch specs in a premium package at killer prices, and the same is expected from the upcoming flagship. The company hasn’t been very open about the features and specs of the phone, but a lot of leaks have already suggested a lot. Let’s see what we know till now.

OnePlus 3 is “Good to Hold”, Says CEO

According to a Neurogadget report, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau said on Weibo a few days back that the new phone “feels good to hold”. This goes hand-in-hand with the images that were leaked out a couple of weeks back by Twitter user @the_malignant. The new photos showed the OnePlus with a USB Type-C port at the bottom of the phone and a Home button below the screen with the fingerprint sensor embedded on it.

OnePlus 3 Rumored Specifications

Some benchmark leaks and a lot of rumors have already suggested a lot of OnePlus 3 specs. TheBitBag reported that the upcoming flagship will come with a 5.5-inch screen, but it won’t get a Quad HD screen and will make do with a Full HD AMOLED panel. Some other rumors say that it might be a 5-inch screen. The phone is going to be powered by Snapdragon 820 processor and will run Android Marshmallow out of the box.

The OnePlus 3 will sport two different variants with 3GB and 4GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB and 64GB of storage, and there will be NFC too. There will be a 16MP rear camera with 4K recording and OIS, and an 8MP front camera. It is also rumored that there might be a 6GB RAM variant of the phone in the making, but nothing is confirmed as of now.

The phone will be juiced by a 3,000mAh battery, but some speculations suggest a larger 3,500mAh battery. The phone is said to get Dash Charge technology that will be similar to Quick Charge 3.0 and will help charge the phone faster.

OnePlus 3 Design Similar to HTC 10

A GameNGuide report referred to a Twitter post by popular leaker Evan Blass. Evan posted a clear, official-looking render of the OnePlus 3 that showed the all-metal body of the phone. There are two horizontal lines on the rear, while the camera module is square with a metal ring around it. The phone looks beautiful, but it surely bears a significant resemblance to the recently launched HTC 10. Anyway, we are happy that OnePlus worked hard to change the look of its next flagship.

OnePlus 3 Release Date and Price

A report by KnowYourMobile suggests that the OnePlus 3 release will happen by the end of Q2, so we should see the phone launch by the end of June. Some rumors suggest a May-end launch, but that seems unlikely as the company hasn’t confirmed anything yet and hasn’t sent out any invites. So a June launch seems the most probable.

As for the OnePlus 3 price, rumors sat that the 32GB version of the phone will be priced at $310, while the 64GB variant might cost as much as $385. Also, speculations say that the company might not use the invite system for sales and might put the phone on sale directly, available to all. Just like the OnePlus 2 launch, CNET reported that the OnePlus 3 launch will also happen in VR so that fans can have an immersive launch-watching experience.
