Nubia, a subsidiary of ZTE has launched a new smartphone, the Nubia Z17. The smartphone packs a punch as far as the specs are concerned. The Chinese OEM has left no stone unturned, be it processor, RAM, storage, or camera.

The Nubia Z17 launch took place in Beijing, China yesterday. Let’s dive into the details of new flagship offering from Nubia.

Nubia Z17 Specifications

The smartphone sports a 5.5-Inch Full HD Display with almost no bezel on the sides. It is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chip with 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM (depending on the variant you choose). Among other Chinese OEM, only Mi 6 boost of the newest Qualcomm SoC. Internal storage of the ZTE Nubia Z17 stands at 64GB/128GB with expandable capabilities of up to 256 Gigabytes. It’s a hybrid sim solution, meaning you can either use two sims or one sim and a micro-SD card. The handset boots Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box.

As far as the camera department goes, Nubia has included a dual camera setup of 23 MP + 12 MP lenses on the rear with the support of 2X optical zoom and 10X Digital zoom. Sounds familiar? iPhone 7 Plus uses the same tech. On the front, you will spot a 16 MP with f/2.0 aperture and 80-degree wide-angle lens.

Another highlighting feature about the Nubia Z17 is support for Quick Charge 4.0 which can give you a battery juice of 50% in just 25 minutes. It will be available in five color variants of Black and Gold, Black, Gold, Red, and Blue.

Coming to pricing, the version with 6 GB RAM + 64 GB storage will cost CNY2,799 ($411), whereas the one with 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage will cost CNY3,399 ($499). The top-end 8 GB RAM version carries a price tag of CNY3,999 ($583).

Overall, on paper, ZTE Nubia Z17 is a device to beat. It will be interesting to see how it fares against the to-be-announced OnePlus 5.
