The Government of India’s “Make in India” policy is now on peak and attracting more and more manufacturers globally to open their plants in India. The Lenovo owned Motorola is one of those manufacturers and currently planning to manufacture smartphones in India locally. Other smartphone manufacturers like Sony, Xiaomi and Gionee are already considering “Make in India” and anticipated to start their plans by the end of this year.
Marcus Frost, Motorola’s global senior marketing director for Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific said –

Currently Motorola is making its handsets in China and Latin America and has a global software R&D unit in Bangalore, India.
