We have some great news for the Motorola Moto X Style owners. After successfully rolling out the Nougat 7 update for Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus, and Moto Z, the company has started seeding the Android Nougat 7.1.1 firmware to the Moto X Style. What’s interesting to note is that the company has skipped the Android 7.0 version, and went directly to 7.1.

BGR India has reported that the latest update has started hitting Moto X Style devices, and the rollout is happening in phases. In fact, the same device was spotted on GFXBench running the Android Nougat 7.1 update so it isn’t surprising at all. The next smartphones in line from Motorola are Moto Z Play, Moto X Force, and Nexus 6.

Android Nougat 7.1.1

Android Nougat update is dearly awaited on most devices as the latest software iteration for Android brings a lot to the table. With the Nougat update, users get multi-window support allowing them to use two apps at the same time. Then, there are performance upgrades and bug fixes. Android Nougat also plays well with Smartphone battery life. Other notable features include updated notifications panel with ‘reply via notification’ feature, which will let users reply to text messages without having to open the app. And to top it all, you have the latest Daydream VR mode in Android Nougat.

Moto X Style was launched in September last Year, and it’s good to see the OEM getting the latest Android flavor in a timely manner to the device. For those who don’t know, Moto X Style is still a decent device with decent specifications. The smartphone houses a 5.5-Inch Full HD IPS LCD display powered by Qualcomm MSM8992 Snapdragon 808 hexacore chipset and 3 Gigs of RAM. Internal storage for the device stands at 16/32 GB with expandable capabilities of up to 128 Gigs via micro-SD expansion. Camera department of Moto X Style comprises of 21 MP rear and 5 MP front shooters.

Many OEMs are working on getting the Nougat update out early for their flagship device. Xiaomi Mi Mix too is tipped to get the latest firmware pretty soon
