Minecraft 1.11 Exploration Update was revealed at MineCon 2016 recently. Minecraft lead designer Jens Bergensten took to the main stage and went through the entire changelog for the upcoming update. This update is called The Exploration Update and will be available on September 28.
Minecraft 1.11 Exploration Update – Llamas
The new mobs arriving to the game are Llamas. They will have a ranged attack which is basically them spitting at you. You can also put saddles on them and store stuff in them like pack mules. If you lead with a Llama, all nearby Llama will start following you.
The game will now feature procedurally generated mansions as part of the Minecraft 1.11 Exploration Update. The specific Woodland Mansion will be extremely rare. But if you do happen to come across it, be prepared to get some good loot and new mobs. Evoker, Vex and Vindicator.
A Villager in Black Robes. It’s a tough enemy that can cast a wave of pillars that deal a lot of damage if the player is caught by one. It can also summon smaller mobs called Vex.
They’re basically ghosts that chase the player around. Since they attack in huge numbers, you will have a lot of problem dealing with them. They’re also too quick to shoot with a bow and often out of reach for melee weapons.
This ones basically a Villager with an axe.
Totem of Undying
This will have a chance of dropping from the new Evoker mob. Should you receive a fatal blow, you’ll instead use the item and be granted a temporary boost to your stats. It’s especially useful when going up against Evoker.
Cartographer and Treasure Maps
Players can now buy maps from Villagers. These cartographers will give you treasure maps that will help you hunt for treasure. Treasure maps will show a top-down view of where the treasure is. Furthermore, they will also have a handy reference point that will let the player know the rough direction and distance they are from the loot.
It will give players coordinates to important world locations. Players can string this into the command if they’re looking for something more specific.
It’s a new chest made from Shulker Shells. Store items in a Shulker Box and destroy it. When you pick it up, you can place it elsewhere with all the items still there.
