Microsoft’s Windows 10 OS is a part of company’s strategy to group different types of devices, be it PCs, XBOX, mobiles and even the Raspberry pi under a unique umbrella of Microsoft software. The company has already released its first Windows 10 smartphones duo, the Lumia 950 and 950 XL last month. So fans can simply grab the device for a hands on experience of Windows 10. Microsoft has also promised to upgrade several Lumia devices running Windows Phone 8.1 or above to Windows 10 OS. Software previews are available to the ‘insiders’ for testing purposes.

Windows 10 platformsTaking a step forward, various carriers have also started the testing process for Windows 10 OS on various Lumia devices which they sell on contract basis.

Latest upcoming is from Australia where Vodafone has revised its update schedule, stating that Windows 10 Mobile is currently being tested for the Nokia Lumia 930, Nokia Lumia 730, Microsoft Lumia 640, Microsoft Lumia 640 XL and the Nokia Lumia 630.

On 5th December, a “cumulative update” to the final Windows 10 Mobile build was released by Microsoft under its Windows Insider program. Build number 10586.29 adds bug fixes and security updates on the upgrade version for Windows Phone 8.1 powered devices.

Already installed on 7% of the Windows Phones, the final build of Windows 10 OS for phones will be released by Microsoft near about Christmas.
