Thanks to the LeEco Le 1s, the company, previously known as LeTV, has gained a lot of popularity globally in a surprisingly short time. The major traits of Le phones include stylish design, slim and attractive full metal unibody, beastly specs, and budget-friendly prices. The Le 1s is currently ruling the budget market, but the company has also launched three new phones a few days back.
Keeping the new LeMax 2 aside, the real war is between the Le 1s successor, LeEco Le 2, and its better version, the LeEco Le 2 Pro. The Le 2 Pro is around $60 (almost INR 4,000) costlier than the Le 2, which will make users think whether it is worth paying the extra price. What extra does the Le 2 Pro offer over the Le 2? Let’s see whether you should be buying the Pro version.
LeEco Le 2 vs. LeEco Le 2 Pro
Let’s quickly go through the specs of the Le 2 first, and we’ll then take a look at where the Le 2 Pro wins. The Le 2 gets a 5.5-inch FullHD screen and is powered by MediaTek’s Helio X20 CPU. It gets 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage with Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based EUI 5.5 running out of the box. There’s a fingerprint sensor, USB Type-C port, and a 3000mAh battery. The rear camera is a 16MP sensor, while there’s an 8MP snapper at the front. The LeEco Le 2 costs $170 approximately.
Le 2 Pro Gets More RAM and Faster CPU
While the Le 2 only gets 3 GB RAM (which isn’t less), the Le 2 Pro gives you 4 GB RAM. That extra 1 gig of memory is very crucial when it comes to doing heavy multi-tasking and playing memory-intensive games. Apart from that, the Le 2 Pro also gets a faster Helio X25 processor. While the difference isn’t large, combine it with the extra 1 GB RAM and you will get a significantly faster and peppier phone.
Le 2 Pro Gets a Better 21MP Sony IMX230 Camera
The LeEco Le 2 Pro comes with a 21MP Sony IMX230 sensor at the back as compared to the 16MP camera of the Le 2. Do note that the Le 2 Pro’s camera is one of the best in the market and has been very much appreciated. It is the same camera found in the Moto X Pure Edition, and the overall performance will definitely be much better than the Le 2. Good low light photography is an added plus here.
Verdict: Should You Buy the LeEco Le 2 Pro Instead of the Le 2?
It depends on how you are going to use the device. If you are a normal user and not much of a gamer or mobile photography enthusiast, then you can settle for the Le 2. But if you are a heavy user and heavy game who also wants the best camera within the budget, then pick the Le 2 Pro. It’s definitely worth the extra $60.
