According to the recent report, the next generation iPhone will come with a front-facing 3D scanner that can take 3D selfies. It’s an impressing feature in itself, but Kuo notes, this could be a game-changer thing. As reported by 9to5Mac, this very feature will apparently be utilized in next-generation mobile games to actually place the player’s 3D head on a video game character’s body.

Other details on the new upcoming 3D camera on the iPhone 8 are not available as of now, but the possibilities are endless. Apple could take advantage of the new feature in augmented reality or advanced 3D scans of physical objects.
