Released in regards to last year, the Desire 816 is one of HTC’s finest midrange handsets to date. The phone is running Android KitKat since its launch. Luckily, it seems like HTC is nearly able to start upgrading the smartphone to Android 5.0.2 Lollipop.
In accordance with HTC ROM programmer LlabTooFeR, the Desire 816 is going to be upgraded to Android 5.0.2 Lollipop next month (April). It is unclear if the handset will also receive HTC’s Sense 7 UI (which is introduced with the company’s latest flagship phone One M9), or if it is going to keep utilizing the existing Sense 6 UI. But we’ll notify you when we find out more details on the update.
HTC Desire 816 is the company’s biggest smartphone in Desire lineup. It sports 5.5 inch 720p screen and is powered by a quad-core 1.6GHzz Snapdragon 400 processor. It packs 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB internal storage, a 13MP rear shooter, a 5MP front snapper and a 2,600 mAh battery.
