Hideo Kojima will be getting glorious revenge at The Game Awards 2016. He will be receiving the industry icon award after being blocked from attending by Konami last year.
Hideo Kojima finally getting his due at Game Awards 2016
We have a special “Screw Konami” for you as Hideo Kojima is set to grace the Game Awards this year. He will be honored with the industry icon award. Not only is this incredibly well-deserved to a talented and well-known developer/ creator, it is a delicious revenge for Kojima. Last year, he was invited to take the stage at the game awards to collect trophies for Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain. However, his ex-employer Konami prevented him from doing so due to a breach of contract.
Now that he is free from Konami’s demonic clutches, he can finally get the award he deserves. We can’t wait for the speech he delivers as we know it will be filled with jabs at Konami. Hopefully, he puts the smackdown on his former employer and gives them a good piece of his mind. That would be glorious but it would also look selfish. Most probably, he’ll dedicate the moment to his fanbase and the wonderful people he had the opportunity to work with.
