Halo Wars 2 new Atriox Trailer might hint at where the game is going

The Banished are a worthy successor of the Covenant. Unlike Mdama’s Covenant, whilst it was awesome as well, was lacking some character. Regardless both are good in their respected way. One led by an elite acting as the prophet while the other led by a smart brute.

On the other hand, M’dama’s Covenant was just trying to live up to the original, and accomplish the original’s goals. It was sort of a shadow that while no longer a direct threat to the UNSC, could still do some damage. And M’dama seemed to have issues growing it beyond that, especially when the Prometheans rebelled and his soldiers began to go against his commands.

During the trailer, when they were talking about Atriox and how he survived the suicidal missions, we love that his hammer had dashes on it basically telling us how many he survived. We really want Atriox to survive this game. There’s so much mystery going on and we’re very excited for what’s to come. Our hope is that the games finally become just as, if not more, entertaining than the novels/extended fiction that we get.

When he takes down Red Team in the Halo Wars 2 trailer, he removed Douglas’ helmet and notes “As I suspected. Merely but a man” (or something close to that). That seems like Red Team is his first encounter with Spartan-IIs. Perhaps, though, he had met them but never killed one or examined one up close.
