Google has updated the Google Translate app for Android to version 5.0, and the latest Google Translate APK download file with build number 50002463 is now available as free download. The file weighs 17.82 MB and works on all devices running Android 4.2 or later. This new update brings an important feature to the app.

More than 500 million people use Google Translate, which is why Google needed to make some important improvements. There’s a new “Tap to Translate” feature in the Android app now. Earlier, you had to copy paste the text from other apps to the Google Translate app. But now with this feature, you don’t need to do that anymore.

You just have to copy the text you want to translate, and a new floating button will appear on the screen; tapping it will translate the text within that app. Tap to Translate makes translating easier, quicker, and more convenient for the users. It works with all the 103 languages in Google Translate.

Another new feature in Google Translate 5.0 APK is the Offline Mode. All you need to do is go to the app and tap the arrow next to a language name for downloading the whole package for that language. So the next time you want to use that language in translations, your mobile data or WiFi needn’t be enabled. And it also works with the new Tap to Translate button.

Lastly, the new update brings a cool new feature called Word Lens in Chinese. Basically, you point your camera at an object that has Chinese or English text on it, and the app will translate the text within the image to English or Chinese. This is one of the 29 supported languages for instant visual translation. And yes, it works offline too.

The new Google Translate 5.0 update is rolling out now and will reach the Play Store soon in all regions. But if you are impatient, you can go to the source link below and download Google Translate APK v5.0 directly to your Android device.
