Google Pixel, Pixel XL Release Date In India is October 5; Pricing Surface Before Launch Date

Google is now getting ready for the unveiling of its very own Android smartphones. The teaser video by Google confirms that it will be holding a launch event on Oct.5. It is expected to come up with not one but two handsets with the brand name as Pixel and Pixel XL which was previously known as Nexus Sailfish and Nexus Marlin.

Google has created a website with URL – madeby.google.com. The website has been built to reveal the Pixel and Pixel XL launch date. The website shows a date of Oct. 5 for Indian audience whereas outside India, the same site shows a date of Oct. 4.

The Pixel and Pixel XL are said to be the first smartphones to run Snapdragon 821 that will deliver better performance over the Snapdragon 820. The Global Certification Forum (GCF) confirmed the devices will be manufactured by HTC and will have metal (aluminum) body.

The housing for the rear camera and fingerprint scanner is likely to be made out of glass, Android Police reported. The phones are expected to come in two hardware versions for international and the U.S. audience The pricing of the device has also been revealed.

Google Pixel, Pixel XL Price, Specifications and Features

The base model of Google Pixel smartphone is likely to cost at $649 (Rs 43,506.01), the publication reported. The starting variant of Pixel XL is expected to be priced at $749 (Rs 50,202.06). Both the smartphones are expected to sport similar design.

According to sources Google Pixel will come with 5-inch screen. It will support full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels whereas Pixel XL will come with 5.5-inch screen that will support Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels.

Google’s Pixel devices will come with 4GB of RAM. It will have native storage of 32 GB. The device will have 12-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel front facing camera. Both the phones will come loaded with Android 7.1 Nougat OS.

The Pixel is rumored to come with 2,770 mAh battery. On the other hand, the Pixel XL is likely to come packed with 3450 mAh battery. Other common features of both phones include USB Type-C port and fingerprint scanner.
