The Gionee Marathon M5 Plus gets a Mediatek MT6753 SoC with an octa-core processor. There’s 3GB RAM under the hood, and the onboard storage has been pumped up to 64GB (expandable up to 128GB). The M5 Plus gets a 6-inch FullHD AMOLED screen and a comparatively smaller (than the M5) 5,020mAh battery. There’s a 13MP camera at the rear with a single LED flash and PDAF, while the front gets a 5MP camera.
The 4G LTE-enabled phone gets a fingerprint sensor on the front and also comes with a a reversible Type-C connector. It gets Android 5.1 Lollipop pre-installed with Amigo OS 3.1 on top. The Marathon M5 Plus costs CNY 2,499 (around $385).
Gionee Marathon M5 Enjoy
The Marathon M5 Enjoy comes with some compromises. It gets a 5.5-inch TFT HD display and packs a 5,000mAh battery. There’s an 8MP camera at the back instead of the 13MP snapper of the M5. However, the Marathon M5 Enjoy does get a fingerprint sensor while the M5 does not. All the rest specifications are almost the same. Only the storage has been lowered to 16GB, but that too is expandable. The M5 Enjoy costS CNY 1,999 (around $310).
