Gionee has sent out media invites for an event on October 8 when it plans to launch its flagship device, the Gionee Elife E8 in India. The phone was first launched in China in the month of June and has been doing good business.
Though there is no actual mention of the Elife E8 being launched but there is a slight hint about the same as mentioned in the invite. It says, “Block your date for some GR8 news”. This is going to be a big leap in the Indian mobile sector and the biggest talking point is that the company is also planning to sell its smartphones online in India.

Let’s delve into the specifications of this brand new phone. It has a mammoth 6-inch WQHD Screen (2560*1440 pixel) super-AMOLED display with a pixel density of 490 ppi. It also has a 2GHz MediaTek MT6795 64-bit octa-core processor coupled with IMG G620 GPU and 3GB of RAM.
When we move to the internal storage, it stands at a convenient 64GB which is further expandable to 128GB through its microSD slot. The camera is the main subject of discussion. It’s at a whopping 24 megapixels with the OIS, true tone flash, with the selfie one standing at 8 megapixels. That’s indeed a thing to savour.
The battery is also a long lasting one at 3520 mAh, with a fingerprint sensor protection at the back of the device. The dual-SIM slots and the support for 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth make it a compelling gadget. To end with, it runs on the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS enveloped under Amigo 3.1 UI.
Folks in India, let’s celebrate!
