Keep in mind this is a just rumor until we know for sure, but we’ve heard some numbers being tossed around as far as sales for Gears 4 are concerned. Why has Microsoft been so quiet about the numbers though? So, Gears 4 doesn’t dethrone Halo 5, but it’s definitely not a flop. Microsoft just isn’t into shouting about sales. We guess if you’re into a company that brags and does nothing great for consumers, go with Sony.

Gears Of War 4 sales number show great reception by the community

According to gamenguide, Gears of War 4 sold around 617k units in its first week. However, there are some things to note here. The user base of the two systems at the game’s release is totally different from one another. The game probably sold tons more on digital. Digital is much bigger than it was 5 years ago. Gears 4 Ultimate Edition ($100) came out on Oct 7th. The standard $60 version didn’t come out until the 11th. The week cut off was on Oct 15th. So those numbers don’t tell the whole truth.

Physical copies sold are only about half, maybe a little less than half, of the total copies sold. More and more gamers are opting for digital downloads. Gears of War 4 is far from being a failure. The $100 edition of Gears 4 was on the top paid off the list on the Xbox marketplace for its first week before the global retail release if that means anything.

We liked gears 4 a lot. The horde overhaul was very welcome. Our only gripe with it, however, is the lack of anything new beyond that. It felt like the robots were robot versions of locusts and the swarm. That speaks for itself. All and all, it’s great but we were expecting more innovation as has been the trend with every new Gears release.

Gears of War 4 is a third-person shooter video game developed by The Coalition and published by Microsoft Studios for Microsoft Windows and Xbox One.
