So, the new Fallout 4 Nuka World DLC is here and you’re torn between playing the good Samaritan or the evil raider overlord. Well not to worry, we here at MobiPicker have investigated everything in Nuka World and have put up this guide for you to decide which approach is best for you. You can save your game right before choosing a quest in Nuka World so you can come back to it and take the other route if you’re interested. We highly recommend doing both. Also, MAJOR SPOILER ALERT!
Fallout 4 Nuka World Good Guy Approach
So, you don’t want to help either of the raider factions and want to be known as the one who saved the Nuka World amusement park. Well then this approach is for you but keep in mind that this will end all the other major quests of the DLC immediately and will give you a really small taste of the Nuka World experience. We highly recommend saving your game before taking this approach so you can reload the save and try the other approach. To summarize, you can speak to Doctor Mackenzie in the Market in Nuka-Town. She’ll tell you to kill all the raiders so that the merchants can be free. Keep in mind that once you accept this quest all the raider factions will immediately become hostile.
Once you complete this quest, you can go to the Nuka-World Power Plant on the west side of the map. Go to the roof of it and find a security cage. Inside will be a big red button. Press it and the Park will re-open. This will also allow access to previous areas which were blocked due to no electricity.
Fallout 4 Nuka World Bad Guy Approach
Here is all the good stuff. This is the crux of the Fallout 4 Nuka World DLC. To start you have three raider factions to whom you can give spots of lands. There are 5 spots, so no matter how you split it, one faction will feel left out and, later on, will turn hostile against you. This faction will occupy the Nuka World amusement park and it will be up to you to force them out. The fun begins when you can go on raiding parties with your newly found raider buddies. You can raid your own settlements, although some important settlements with key characters like Preston are not available to raid. The Minutemen will show up but the game allows you to kill them without the Minutemen faction turning hostile against you (probably because you kill the minutemen and don’t let them escape so they can tell everyone else that you switched factions).
Raider Faction Perks
The three raider factions will grant you different perks so choose wisely. We’ve decided to list all the perks of each faction and how it will affect you
Disciples Faction – Chosen Disciple Perk. Any kills made with a melee weapon will restore 25% of your Action Points.
Operators Faction – Ace Operator Perk. All guns with a suppressor attached will get a 25% damage boost, permanently. Additionally, your character gains a 10% boost to sneak abilities when in the shadows.
The Pack Faction – Pack Alpha Perk. Gives a +25% boost to melee and unarmed damage. Its additional function is to reduce damage/energy resistance by 25%! This is a further reduction to damage aside from your normal DR/ER and is certainly useful on a ranged character as well.
After beating the Power Play quest you will be granted these perks. Afterwards, you can accept further quests from your allied Raiders faction and they will also bring you loot after a set amount of time. Most of it might be useless to you at this point but you an sell the loot for in-game currency (bottlecaps). You can still turn on the Nuka World amusement park after completing the raider quests.
Fallout 4 Nuka World DLC will be the last DLC to be released for the game. There is no news regarding whether Bethesda will put out a GOTY edition of the game but it is highly likely that they will since they have done it with every other title since Morrowind. Which approach do you plan to take for the Fallout 4 Nuka World DLC? Let us know in the comments.
