Bethesda Softworks has released a new trailer revealing more about the Far Harbor DLC for Fallout 4. The add-on now has an official release date of May 19th for the PC, Xbox One and PS4. According to lead designer Will Shen, Far Harbor features the largest landmass Bethesda Game Studios has ever created, making this a truly massive bit of downloadable content for the game.
The premise of Far Harbor takes the game’s player to the island of Far Harbor, where they are on a quest to find a missing young woman. Along the way, they will discover a secret colony of synths and deal with a conflict between the local townspeople, the synths and the Children of Atom. Which way the conflict swings, is naturally up to the player.
The trailer below sheds a lot of light on the add-on, such as how it is heavily inspired by the fishermen that inhabit the island, leading to weapons like a meathook for melee and a harpoon gun. There’s also the sturdiest heavy armour available in the game, short of Power Armor. Considering the size of the DLC, there will no doubt be a wealth of quests and characters as well.
Far Harbor will be available via the Fallout 4’s Season Pass, which retails at $50 and includes all the DLC released for the game. Alternately, it can be bought independently at $25. Let us know in the comments below if you already own it, or plan to get it soon.
