After watching the trailer of Dark Souls 3 Ashes of Ariandel DLC a hundred times, we have hopefully got all of the details. We know everything from the story of the game and where it is located. However, we also figured out one interesting thing that may have skipped the mind of many fans who were watching the trailer.

Dark Souls 3 Ashes of Ariandel DLC – Velka as final boss?
The setting of the DLC is very important. In the trailer, there were four clips of the player fighting bosses in the game that we already know of. These include Osiris, The Nameless King, Lothric Lorian, and Aldrich. You might be wondering why the devs did that. They’re not wielding anything DLC related like spells, weapons, armor etc.
But we think there is some deep hidden meaning here. Now, what is the link between all those four bosses? The Nameless King is Gwen’s first born son. Aldrich is also Gwen’s son. So, here they all link with the Royal family of Gwen. This is the family that started the linking of the fire. However, if you notice there is a missing member here. We have the father, sons, and daughter. But we’re missing the mother here.
So, we think the mother can be Velka. There were a lot of theories circulating around that the mother was Velka. And we think they might actually be true. Another reason why we think this theory is true is because the boss that you find is close to the Corvean enemies. You can find them in the untended graves. The Corveans are directly linked to Priscilla and the painted world of Ariamis. So, this is also another hint that Velka may be the final DLC boss.
That frozen fire keeper is not Velka
That could be frozen or a corpse. We can’t really tell at this moment. However, what we can tell is that it’s not Velka. We think this is actually the Firekeeper that got out of the Abyss. She is short like Ludlith. So, we think she’s related to Ludlith as opposed to Velka. Ludlith himself speaks about that Firekeeper who gout out of the Abyss.
So, in general, all the evidence points towards Velka. Let us know what you think of the Dark Souls 3 Ashes of Ariandel DLC. Check out the trailer too. This is just a theory of ours, so take it with a grain of salt.
