The first ever Android-powered BlackBerry phone, the BlackBerry Priv, has been launched already in Canada, U.S, and some other countries including the U.K. The phone, which gets a hidden slide-out QWERTY keyboard, will be launched in Vietnam on 5th December. And guess what? A gold-plated version of the phone will go on sale too!
A Vietnamese company called Karalux has gained popularity by offering gold-plated variants of successful smartphones like the BlackBerry Passport and BlackBerry Q10. The company has now announced that it will be offering a 24K gold-plated variant of the BlackBerry Priv, which is already overpriced at $700.
If you are in Vietnam, you can buy the already gold-plated phone for $1100. If you have already bought the phone but now want to get that piece of jewelry, you can get that gold-plating done for $350. And in case you live out of Vietnam and would like to own that gold variant of the Priv, you can order it for $1300. Well, that’s if you prefer exclusivity or just fancy the gold plating.
