Although “Giant’s Shadow” will be available for all players for free, those who preordered will get 7 days early access to the map. This is confirmed by Microsoft, and along with Giant’s Shadow early access, preorders will include Hellfighter pack, a bundle containing “themed items inspired by the heroic Harlem Hellfighter infantry regiment.”
EA only confirmed the release date, without sharing any details about the map, which lead fans to wonder what the map might look. The popular theory is that Giant’s Shadow is the area showed one the first trailer, and it will be just one of many free pieces of content DICE plans of releasing for the game. For all those interested in game’s beta, it should start on August 31, and last until September 8, long enough time to decide if the Battlefield 1 is for you. The map featured during beta testing is called the Sinai Desert, and on it, you’ll be able to play Conquest and Rush modes.
It’s worth noting that DLC for Battlefield 1 will feature 16 maps, four expansion packs, 20 new weapons, 2 new armies (Russia and France), and a couple of new game modes, all of which available for Premium Pass ($50 price) owners.
If you buy Early Enlister Deluxe Edition, the game will unlock three days earlier, on October 18. For all other players, Battlefield 1 will be available on October 21 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
