Baahubali 2: RGV’s tweet makes Sridevi regret all the more

Considering all the immense attention and popularity Baahubali 2 cast is getting, it’s impossible to not think about what’s going in Sridevi’s mind right now. The cast  – Prabhas, Rana Daggubait, Tamannah, Anushka Shetty, Sathyaraj and Ramya Krishnan are getting global attention. Ramya Krishnan plays the powerful role of Queen Shivagami. With powerful dialogues and intense gaze, Ramya has won a billion hearts. But it was Sridevi who was first offered the role of Queen Shivagami.

According to reports, Sridevi demanded too much money – a whopping 6 crores from the film makers. From what we know, Ramya Krishnan accepted the role for Rs 2.5 crores. So the film makers decided to cast Ramya instead. And now, everything seems to be going in favour of Ramya Krishnan – from worldwide attention to critical acclaim and praises. And Sridevi lost out on a golden opportunity. Had she accepted the offer, she would be getting all the attention from the blockbuster success of Baahubali 2.

Ram Gopal Verma’s tweet tells it all. RGV took to twitter to wonder why Sridevi declined the offer to play the role of Queen Shivagami. Expressing disappointment and concern, RGV said that had she accepted the offer, she would have received more credit than Prabhas, considering it’s her very next film after English Vinglish.

“I really wonder why @SrideviBKapoor did not do Bahubali 2? What a super outstanding film it would have been for her illustrious career.

If @SrideviBKapoor did Bahubali2 she would have gotten more credit than Prabhas it being her very next film after English Vinglish”, tweeted RGV.

Sridevi started her career as a child artist in M A Thirumugham’s devotional Thunaivan at the age of four. She made her Bollywood debut as a child artist in Julie (1975) and player her first role as an adult in the Tamil movie Moondru Mudichu. In 2013, the Government of India awarded her Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian honor. Sridevi announced her comeback in 2011, while working for the movie English Vinglish.
