Recently launched Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus can be expected to be launched in India on October 7. The launch date has not been officially announced by Apple yet. However, it was mentioned on Apple India’s website in the specification pages of iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. There has been no indication on the Indian price as yet.
The Apple iPhone 7 was launched at $649 (approx. INR 43,123), while the iPhone 7 Plus was priced at $769 (approx. INR 51,096). The Indian prices can be expected to start from INR 60,000.
The new Apple smartphones come in black, gold, rose gold and silver colour options. These are the first iPhone to be water and dust resistant with IP67 certification. The new iPhones have ditched the antenna design along with headphone jack. You can still use your personal headphones via a Lightning to 3.5 mm headphone jack adapter. Apple has launched new EarPods with lightening connector along with wireless Bluetooth earbuds called AirPods. The company has also ditched 16GB model. The new iPhones will come in 32 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB internal storage models.
The iPhone 7 sports a 4.7-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 1334×750 pixels. While the iPhone 7 Plus comes with a 5.5-inch display with full-HD resolution. Both smartphones feature LED back-lit IPS screens with 625 cd/M2 max brightness. They are powered by new A10Fusion CPU. The 64-bit CPU is 40 percent faster than the A9. It features two high-performance cores and two high-efficiency cores for a longer battery life. There is also a new 6-core GPU which is 50% faster than the Apple A9 processor.
The iPhone 7 Plus comes with a dual camera set up. There is a primary 12-megapixel camera similar to the iPhone 7, and then there is a secondary camera, called the ‘telephoto’ camera. The secondary camera helps to create depth effect in images and offers 2x zoom in camera. The 12MP camera features include a f/1.8 aperture, OIS [Optical Image Stabilization], six element lens, Live Photo feature with stabilization, Sapphire crystal lens cover, Backside illumination sensor, Hybrid IR filter, Auto HDR, Burst mode, timer mode, panorama, and geo-tagging. It can record 4K videos, slow motion full-HD videos at 120fps ,and HD videos at 240fps.
Both the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus sport a 7MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture and BSI sensor. Other features include full HD video recording, Auto HDR, Auto Image Stabilisation, Burst mode and Timer mode. Connectivity options include WiFi (ac), WiFi with MIMO, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS with GLONASS and NFC. There is also a fingerprint sensor on the home button. Apple also claims that the built-in Li-Ion battery can last up to 21 hours on 3G network.
