Here’s a quick recap of all that happened this week in the world of Android Nougat Update. While the Nexus 6P, 5X, and Pixel C will get Android 7.1 Nougat Update developer preview (not the final build) this month, Lenovo announced that it would be releasing the Android 7.0 Nougat for its eligible smartphones by the end of this year. If Lenovo’s roll-out schedule for Android Marshmallow last year is anything to go by, Android 7.0 will take few months to reach all its devices. Once the update is available for K3 Note, K4 Note, and K5 Note, users will be notified via an OTA notification on the device.
This week also saw news related to Android Nougat update for Sony devices. The leaked Android Nougat update strategy document shows that the Sony Xperia XZ and Xperia X Performance will be getting the Android 7.0 Nougat update later this October. Sony Xperia X and X Compact will likely get the new update in November. The Sony Xperia Z5 series including Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, and Xperia Z5 Premium will get the update much later – they are all lined up for a December release.
