More than 100 patches for ADMGPU driver, including some much talked about support for Vega 10, were released by AMD’s Linux driver team yesterday.

The folks over at Phoronix are saying that the first 100 patches are meant for providing initial support for Vega, which is based on the GFX9 architecture. The transition to the new architecture called for about 40,000 lines of code before facilitating support for new video BIOS interface, new hardware intellectual property, support for video decode using UVD (UVD 7.0), support for video encode using VCE (VCE 4.0), support for 3D via RadeonSI, power management, full display support using DC, and support for SR-IOV virtualization”

The new patches include seven Vega IDs. For some perspective, the file lists just a couple of Fiji IDs. Having stated that, there are also several new models, including many based on Radeon RX, Radeon Instinct, and Radeon Pro.

Interestingly, though, the list does not include revisions such as C1, C3 etc. The list also includes seven Polaris 1 IDs, although it doesn’t feature any sign of Vega 11 whatsoever.
