The Marshmallow update for the Idol 3 will be available to all the unlocked units in the US. The company has said nothing about releasing the update in other countries. Many users have installed the latest update already, and it is being said that the phone has got smoother to use.

Talking about the new features that the update will bring, you will notice the general Marshmallow features like App Standby, Doze Mode, Google Now on Tap, new permissions, etc. Better performance, security, and battery life is expected from the update, which also includes the security patches for June.

If you haven’t received the update yet, you can manually check for it in the Settings of the phone. Marshmallow update file will be very large in size, so it would be better to connect to a WiFi network and charge the phone to at least 80% before starting the update.
