Hyundai is rolling out a mildly upgraded i20 hatchback in the ever expanding Indian auto market. The refreshed i20 has a new Marina Blue shade, along with a couple of new dual-tone exterior color choices, to offer. These are Polar White and Passion Red — both flaunting a black roof treatment.
Meanwhile, the interior of the refreshed 2017 i20 will sport contrasting orange inserts. As per a new report, the new models will be available on the Asta trim with dealers claiming that the base price for the new variant will be Rs 7.24 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). As seen in the official brochure, the new i20 will come with revised equipment levels with a brand new 7.0-inch touchscreen AVN system now ready from the Asta trim level. Other accompanying features include Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and MirrorLink connectivity.
There is a catch, though! Some equipments are now missing on the Asta trip including the push button start, auto up-down function in the driver window, alloy wheels, as well as rear washer and wiper. It will, however, cling on to the 16-inch wheels.
Meanwhile, the Sportz trim will also miss out on a few equipment including the reverse camera, telescopic adjust, and auto climate control.
A new trim has also been added to the lineup. Placed below the Magna trip, the new trim will be called Magna Executive. Note that the Executive variant will be missing out on the following features: Bluetooth connectivity for the audio system, steering-mounted controls, rear parcel tray, and keyless entry. Also, the standard Magna variant will only be available with automatic transmission.
No major changes were made to the engine options, which means we still have the 1.2 Kappa dual VTVT petrol paired along with a 5-speed manual, 1.4 dual VTVT petrol with 4-speed automatic, as well as 1.4 U2 CRDi diesel with 6-speed manual gearbox.
